NICOLA Sturgeon has been left shocked as old images of her next to the man rumoured to be the next 007 resurfaced.

If reports are to be believed, English actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set to succeed Daniel Craig as the iconic spy James Bond.

Known for his roles in Kick-Ass and for playing John Lennon in Nowhere Boy, Taylor-Johnson also starred as James Douglas in Outlaw King – the Netflix film about Robert the Bruce.

But people watching a Sky News report on the showbiz news were met with a surprise: Nicola Sturgeon in the middle of the scene.

Taking to Twitter/X, Sturgeon said: “Things I didn’t expect to see today – me in the background of shots of (if reports are to be believed) the new James Bond.”

It seems the pair were at a promotional event for Outlaw King as they’re both watching on as Chris Pine, who played Robert the Bruce, speaks to the media.

Many took to the comments to ask if Sturgeon was up for a starring role in the next Bond movie.

“Are you going to be M,” asked one user while another encouraged her to “call your agent”.

“The name’s Sturgeon … Nicola Sturgeon,” said a third.

We know that the former first minister is busy writing a book about her time in office – but maybe she'll be able to find time for a new role.
