THE limited-edition Scottish gin set to be included in this year’s luxury Oscars gift bag is set to go on sale to the public.
Award-winning gin company Gin Bothy said their limited-edition batch gin, which is being given to all nominees as part of the “Everybody Wins” Oscars gift bag worth around $125,000, will also be made available for purchase.
Distilled by the Angus-based producer specifically for nominees such as Martin Scorsese, Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling, the batch was made using Scottish heather, Scots' pine, and rosemary.
Originally numbered between 1-25 for each of the nominees, Gin Bothy founder Kim Cameron decided to release the remainder of the 300 bottle batch to the general public.
"This is not just a celebration for Hollywood,” she said.
“It's an invitation for everyone to experience the glamour and taste of the Oscars.
“Rather than hold onto the remainder of this unique batch we decided to make them available for anyone to buy.
“The Oscars are one of the biggest events in the world and so being able to bring a piece of that to our customers is really exciting.”
Cameron, who says she stumbled into gin making accidentally after discovering her talent for it while making jam in her kitchen in Glamis, said the bottles will even come with a commemorative figurine.

“While most of us can only dream of winning an Oscar,” she added.
“Anyone who gets their hands on of the 300 bottles will certainly be able to practise their winner’s speeches with ease as each bottle comes with a miniature 6” Oscar figure to commemorate the event.”
It isn’t the first time Scotland has been associated with the Oscars gift bags.
In 2022, many criticised the inclusion a “plot of Scottish land” in the gift bags.
The company Highland Titles claimed that the plot of land entitled recipients to refer to themselves as “Laird” or “Lady” of Glencoe.
However, this claim was disputed by legal experts such as Andy Wightman.
