PLANS have been refused to open a new a new Greggs at a train station in Glasgow.

The beloved bakery was not given permission to take over the previous Shelter unit in the middle of Central Station.

According to documents, the business wanted to fit out the property and put up new signs with the brand's logos.

A new entrance and built-in storage area would have also been created.

Glasgow City Council officials said they will not allow the development to go ahead because it would create an "obscure and inactive shopfront along one side of the unit and would not respect the appearance of the listed building".
