COLIN Firth has been spotted filming for a new TV series based on the Lockerbie bombing in Glasgow city centre.

We previously reported filming for the series from Carnival Films and Sky Studios, believed to be called Flight 103, will be taking place in Glasgow.

On December 21, 1988, Pan Am Flight 103, which was travelling from London to New York, exploded over Lockerbie killing all 259 passengers and crew and 11 of the town's residents.

Former Libyan intelligence officer Abdelbaset al-Megrahi is so far the only person who has been convicted in relation to the bombing after being found guilty of 270 counts of murder in 2001.

The new drama is told from the perspective of Jim and Jane Swire who lost their daughter Flora in the atrocity which took place on the eve of her 24th birthday.
