FIRST Minister Humza Yousaf is set to campaign in the Westminster seat of Scottish Conservatives leader Douglas Ross.
Yousaf said it was time to “ensure Scotland is Tory-free" as he campaigns alongside SNP activists and candidate for Moray West, Nairn and Strathspey, Graham Leadbitter.
“It’s time to rid Scotland of Tory MPs. After over a decade of damaging Tory Westminster governments that have delivered a broken Brexit Britain, driven down living standards and hammered households with austerity and cuts - Scotland deserves so much better,” Yousaf (below) said.
“As the most recent poll underlines, we have the chance to make Scotland Tory-free at the General Election and the only way to do that is by voting SNP.”
Yousaf’s comments come after a new poll predicted that there will be no Scottish Tory MPs in the House of Commons after the next General election, with the SNP projected to win a landslide victory in Scotland.

After visiting Ross’s constituency, the First Minister will then join SNP candidate for Aberdeenshire North and Moray East, Seamus Logan, in Fraserburgh to hear from stakeholders in the fishing industry the SNP say have been “betrayed by Westminster and broken Brexit promises”.

As the Scottish Labour conference is well underway, Yousaf said “Labour doesn’t need Scotland, but Scotland needs the SNP” to ensure the voices of Scottish people are heard.
"Labour doesn't need Scotland, but Scotland needs the SNP to ensure our voice is heard.
“With both the Tories and Labour Party committed to the broken Brexit Britain economy that has led to a recession, only the SNP offers people across Scotland the right to choose a stronger, fairer and prosperous future as an independent country.”
