A SCOTTISH hotel popular with A-list celebrities has enraged locals due to it reportedly making too much noise.

The Fife Arms Hotel in Braemar, Aberdeenshire, was bought by multi-millionaire art dealers Iwan and Manuela Wirth and transformed into a plush hotel charging £400 upwards for a suite.

Judi Dench, Rita Ora and John Bishop among others have been seen staying at the hotel, which has gained quite the reputation as an A-list celebrity retreat.

But not everyone is seemingly happy with the changes, with unhappy locals posting on social media complaining about the noise.

In a post on Facebook, Jennifer Greenshields said that late night noise disturbances are “becoming too frequent”.

She added: “With these events you are basically dictating what time village residents are permitted to sleep.”

The local also mentioned a recent concert by the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.

She said: “The doors to the bar were left open and guests were wandering in and out of the building, smoking cigars, with the music blasting.

"The scene was like the animals had taken over the zoo.”

One local mentioned a recent fireworks display, saying that it had “gone out of fashion”, while another said it is “getting beyond a joke”.

Another recent post on the village Facebook group defended the hotel.

Visit Braemar forwarded on a post from a “local business owner” that slammed the “nastiness and negativity” towards a fellow business, saying that the investment in the hotel should be seen as a “positive”.
