SCOTTISH tennis star Andy Murray sent a tongue-in-cheek message to pop superstar Taylor Swift for “winning” the Super Bowl.

The singer has hit the headlines in recent months for her appearances at NFL games ever since she started dating Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce.

The Chiefs triumphed 25-22 over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in a tightly-contested match.

However, since the beginning of their relationship, the NFL has been keen to promote the fact that the pop singer has been attending games, with cameras regularly cutting to her reaction of what’s happening and following her as she enters stadiums.

The organisation was even previously forced to defend its focus on the relationship, describing it as a “pop-cultural moment”.

Ever the joker, two-time Wimbledon champion Murray sent a message to Swift on Twitter/X riffing on the controversy.

He said: “Congratulations to @taylorswift13 on winning Super Bowl 58. A stunning performance.”

Many were left in stitches at Murray’s comments, with people commenting with laughing emojis and clapping hands.

“I do love Andy Murray,” said another user while somebody else added: “How can you not love Andy Murray.”

“Totally awesome as usual,” a third person commented.

It’s not the first time this past week that the former world number one has left people in stitches.

He previously took part in a fake tennis reality show which suggested that the entire season was based on a script.

Never change Andy. Never change.
