MORE than 40 classic tractors trundled 50 miles through the Scottish countryside in memory of a beloved local blacksmith.
The Trossachs Tractor Run is held in memory of Arnprior blacksmith Bobby Gunn, who died suddenly at work in 2017.
Robert Wilson, from Kippen, organised the procession on Sunday, which saw 45 tractor drivers commit to the 50-mile loop around Stirlingshire.
The route began in Bobby’s hometown of Arnprior, before passing through Kippen, Fintry, Balfron, Gartmore, Aberfoyle, Blairhoyle and Thornhill, and reaching the finish line back in Arnprior.
Robert’s tractor run will raise money for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland, which will be donated in Bobby’s name – with more than £1700 raised so far.
Robert told the Stirling Observer: “Bobby’s passing was quite a shock to everyone and as time has gone by, I thought I could do something and since we were charging an entry fee, to support CHSS with that.
“There have been a lot of farmers putting in overwhelming donations. Initially people who knew Bobby were donating, but gradually it has spread to people who know others taking part.”
