SINGER Rod Stewart paid a visit to his local Tesco to buy a brand of his own whisky.

The Maggie May singer’s blended Scotch called Wolfie’s Whisky hit the shelves in more than 400 Tesco stores across the UK.

Stewart paid a visit to a store in Bishop’s Stortford to see his own brand, which costs £35 a bottle, after it was launched in July 2023 in collaboration with Loch Lomond Distillery.

The musician (below) surprised staff and posed for pictures on Tuesday, January 30, after claiming his friends kept asking him where they could buy his brand.

The National: Rod Stewart

Speaking at the supermarket, he said: “It’s just wonderful to see Wolfie’s in pride of place here at Tesco.

“I’m delighted to think it’s even easier for people to pick up a bottle of Wolfie’s and it’s been lovely speaking to the team here in Bishop’s Stortford to see what they thought of it.

“They certainly have a taste for the good stuff.”

The whisky is described as “wonderfully balanced with flavours of warming cinnamon, fresh vanilla and baked apple”.

Duncan Frew, co-founder in Wolfie’s, added: “To have secured a national retail listing within the first seven months of taking Wolfie’s to market is a huge achievement, and one we are incredibly proud of.

“This marks a huge milestone for the brand and the first of many that we’re hoping to achieve in 2024.”
