THE Met Office has issued a yellow warning for “strong winds” in Scotland.

Parts of northeast Scotland are set to see gusts of up to 70mph, with the weather warning issued between 7 and 11am on Saturday.

The Orkney and Shetland islands are set to be hit worst.

It comes after a series of named storms hit Scotland and ahead of a predicted cold snap, with the next bout of snow reportedly set to start next week according to weather maps.
