Hibernian goalkeeper Max Boruc has joined Arbroath on loan.

The 21-year-old has featured four times for Hibs this season but is seeking regular game time in the Scottish Championship.

Boruc made his debut for Hibs in qualifying for the Europa Conference League in a 6-1 win over  Inter Club d'Escaldes.

However, he has had limited minutes in the first-team with David Marshall and Murray Johnson in the matchday squads.

A club statement confirmed: "We can confirm that Max Boruc has joined cinch Championship side Arbroath on loan.

"The young ‘keeper has joined the Red Lichties for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign to gain regular First Team football.

"After joining the Hibees in the summer, Boruc has made four appearances, with his debut coming in our UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier against Andorran side Inter Club d'Escaldes.

"He will now link up with Jim McIntyre’s side for the remainder of the campaign. Arbroath sit bottom of the second-tier of Scottish football with 18 points from 20 games."

Hibs coach Nick Montgomery commented: “Like Riley, this is a good opportunity for Max to go out and play regular football in a really competitive league.

“I’m sure he will embrace this opportunity, and I look forward to seeing how this will help develop his all-round game.”
