A NUMBER of schools remain closed across Scotland as the country faces another day of cold temperatures and travel disruption.

A yellow warning is in place for snow and ice with northern and eastern parts of Scotland seeing the bulk of snow on Monday.

Disruption has continued on Tuesday with a number of schools still closed for facing delayed openings.

Where are schools closed?

Aberdeenshire Council has posted a number of updates as several schools either remain closed or face transport issues. More information can be found HERE.

Elsewhere, Highland Council published a new update at 8am with dozens of schools still shut.

Many others are also facing issues with transport and a full list can be found HERE.

In Moray, things are less severe with many schools facing delayed openings to allow for safer travel. More information HERE.

The latest update from Aberdeen City Council meanwhile showed that eight schools are facing delayed openings. The full list can be found HERE

What about travel disruption?

People have been asked to take care when travelling and to check the ScotRail app, website and social media channels for the latest updates.

An update posted late on Monday evening showed the following trains would be affected this morning:

  • 8.43am: Inverness-Glasgow is only running to Perth
  • 9.42am: Inverness-Glasgow has been replaced by a bus
  • 12.07pm: Glasgow-Inverness & 5.33pm Edinburgh-Inverness both terminate at Perth
