A SCOTTISH airport has announced the addition of three new routes to popular holiday destinations this year.

Ryanair has launched new routes from Edinburgh to a resort in North Africa, a coastal holiday spot and a celebrated wine region city.

New destinations include Agadir in Morocco as well as Biarritz and Bergerac in France.

The Herald reports that the Agadir flights will go on sale from April 1, starting at £65 on a twice-weekly basis on Monday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Edinburgh to Bergerac and Biarritz routes begin on April 2 and 3 and are priced at £22 and £26 respectively.

The Biarritz route is to operate twice a week, on Monday and Thursday, with Edinburgh to Bergerac to operate on a Tuesday and Saturday.

Announcing the news, head of aviation at Edinburgh Airport Jonny Macneal said: “Adding new destinations means we’re offering new places for people to explore, and that’s something we always look to deliver.

“This summer our passengers can now investigate Bergerac, wander round the stunning city of Biarritz or bask in the sun in Agadir.

“It’s difficult to choose which one to visit so it’s best to tick off all three.”
