MARKS & Spencer is to open a new food hall in a Scottish town as part of a major expansion push north of the Border.

The new Linlithgow store, which will be located in the town’s Stockbridge Retail Park, will open its doors on January 25.

The 12,500 square foot market-style food hall will include an in-store bakery as well as a dedicated M&S Wine Shop.

The new look store follows the retailers £10 million investment in Scotland last year including its East Kilbride, Bishopbriggs and Glasgow west end stores.

More than 60 new jobs have been created in the local area as a result, the company has said.

“We look forward to welcoming the community to our new Linlithgow store when we open on Burns Day,” said store manager Brian Torley.

“The new store is packed with so many exciting new features which we can’t wait to reveal, and we’re counting down the days to finally open the doors and see local customers experience it for themselves.”

To celebrate opening on Burns Day, the store has promised that those visiting on January 25 will be treated to some Scottish entertainment.
