A RESTAURANT chain has closed a huge location in Glasgow city centre.

Mexican eatery Barburrito shut its doors at Hope Street with the unit now up for let by Eadie Cairns Ltd.

The unit has a Class 3 licence and seating across three floors.

Signage has appeared on the doors of the restaurant that reads: "We are still open in Glasgow, head to our Queen Street store open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and on delivery."

Barburrito has been contacted for comment.

The British chain is known for its Mexican-style fast food and primarily serves burritos. As of January 7, 2024, it operates 13 locations across the UK.
