A SEARCH for a missing bodyboarder who was believed to be in difficulty off the coast of Aberdeenshire was called off by coastguard rescuers on Thursday night.

Crews from HM Coastguard, Police Scotland, and the RNLI had been called to the scene around 1.20pm on Thursday following reports of a bodyboarder getting into difficulty in water off Fraserburgh.

However, the coastguard has said the search ended around 9.15pm on Thursday night after it was satisfied that nobody was missing.
