NIGEL Farage reportedly sees his I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! appearance as a stepping stone back into the world of politics.

The former Ukip leader came third place in the reality TV show, losing out to Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson and former boxer Tony Bellew on Sunday night.

Farage has not held elected office since he left the European Parliament in 2020, when Britain left the European Union, but is said to be planning a political comeback propelled by his recent reality TV appearances.

The Daily Mail reports that a source close to Farage will be announcing his next moves “in the coming days”.

They told the paper: “The coming months are going to be huge for Nigel. He wants a way back into politics and he is going to tell his fans of this in the coming days.

“His view is that going on a show like I’m A Celeb means he has been shone into millions of living rooms across Britain, where viewers can see him warts and all. They also learn about his political opinions.”

Farage was reportedly paid £1.5 million for his appearance on the show but the ultimate prize could be furthering his political ambitions, and speculation has been rife he may join the Conservative Party.

The National: Richard Tice.

Farage is currently the honorary president of Richard Tice’s (above) Reform UK party, who told the Mail there was “no way on earth we are doing a deal with Toxic Tories” in response to speculation the two parties may join forces.

It comes as Tory MPs express concerns about the party’s immigration policy, with the hardline right-wing furious at record immigration levels and the lack of progress on the flagship policy of deporting asylum seekers to Rwanda.

An emergency bill is making its way through the Commons and will be read for a second time on Tuesday.
