A holiday company has added a Greek island destination to its summer programme with flights from Glasgow.

Jet2 is offering customers the chance to visit the island of Symi in Greece, via flights from Glasgow Airport to Rhodes which is just 24 miles away.

With flights every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during peak periods, holidaymakers can fly to Rhodes where they will receive accommodation for the first night before continuing to Symi via a 1.5-hour ferry ride.

After arriving in Symi, they will then be transported from the port to their chosen accommodation.

Part of the Dodecanese islands, Symi is known for its beaches, the pretty harbour at Symi Town and is surrounded by authentic Greek houses on the hillside.

The new destination can be accessed by visitors between April 12 and October 30.

Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy said: “As the UK’s largest tour operator, our Summer 24 programme is already jam-packed full of choice and flexibility.

"Given the strong demand we are seeing, we are delighted to be expanding our enormous programme even more and adding Symi to our Jet2holidays portfolio from Glasgow Airport.

“Greece is proving to be a popular choice of holiday destination for next summer, so we have no doubt that this new addition will be much sought-after by customers and independent travel agents in Scotland.

"As well as being able to access this island for the first time with Jet2holidays, holidaymakers will also be able to enjoy the many benefits of booking a package holiday with an award-winning airline and tour operator.

"It is for this reason, and our reputation of delivering a VIP customer service, that we are confident that our package holidays to Symi will be a huge success from Glasgow Airport.”
