A MAN has been rushed to hospital after a "stabbing" in Glasgow city centre.
It was previously reported that police had taped off an area outside Charing Cross Station and the Britannia Inn hotel in Elmbank Gardens.
Police were called to the scene at around 4.45am this morning following a report of a man being seriously assaulted.
It is understood he was stabbed and the 29-year-old was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.
His condition is not know and an investigation into the incident is underway.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.45am on Monday, November 20, police were called to a report of a 29-year-old man seriously assaulted in Elmbank Gardens, Glasgow.
"He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and enquiries are ongoing."
