THE Daily Record is to leave its waterfront office building in Glasgow and move into a new space.

The newspaper, and its sister Sunday Mail title, will be based out of offices on the first floor of 55 Douglas Street, according to the commercial letting giant CBRE Group.

Journalists from other outlets owned by Reach PLC, including the Scottish Daily Express and Glasgow Live, will also be based at the Douglas Street office.

CBRE said that the Record had signed a 10-year lease for the 14,298 sq ft of workspace at a rental of £29.50 per sq ft. The total comes to an annual bill of around £420,000 per year.

The Record will be relocating from its current office at 40 Anderston Quay on the River Clyde (below).

CBRE, on behalf of landlord Signal Capital, said that the newspaper was the first occupier of its newly refurbished 55 Douglas Street space, which in total comprises 85,000 sq ft of office space over six levels.

The space also includes “a fitness studio/gym, 120 cycle racks with dedicated cycle entrance, drying room, and high-end gym-style shower and changing rooms”, CBRE said.
