A HOAX call sparked a huge emergency response to flats in Glasgow.

Multiple 999 services raced to the block of flats at Kingsway Court in the city's Knightswood on Sunday night.

Images shared on social media show the response teams at the scene, with claims that "four fire engines, an ambulance, a major response van and police vehicles" all attended.

Reports also claim that the call was a false alarm, with one local describing the move as "absolutely disgusting".

Another said the act was "unbelievable".

Officers confirmed that they had been called to the area following a report of a fire but there was no trace of any incident when they arrived.

It is being treated as a false call.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted.

It comes after we reported that a 999 response was called to the flats at Kingsway Court last year due to a loud movie.

Four police vehicles were sent following reports from a neighbour about "screaming and shouting".

But when officers attended the flat, the people inside were found to be watching a movie on a loud TV.
