UP to three guests will be able to stay in a recreation of Shrek’s swamp in the Highlands this Halloween.

People will be able to request to book a two-night stay for up to three guests between October 27-29.

The stay will cost nothing, in what Airbnb call “a nod to the priceless refuge Shrek’s swamp has provided fairytale creatures of all kinds”.

Whilst the stay is free, guests are responsible for their own travel to and from the location.

The swamp, which mirrors the treehouse style seen in the film franchise, includes a rustic interior with a double bed, wooden table, fireplace, as well as a separate toilet facility 20 meters away from the main building to mirror “Shrek’s trusted outhouse”.The National:

Airbnb has also pledged to make a one-time donation to the HopScotch Children’s Charity, which provides some of Scotland’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children with respite breaks through nurturing and holiday trips.

The four Shrek films have earned more than $2.9 billion since the first film was released in 2001.
