A building in Glasgow city centre has been taped off by emergency services due to an unsafe building.

Gordon Street is currently closed from Hope Street to Renfield Street as debris is falling from a building.

Police are on the scene directing traffic and images show police and "crime scene" tape erected around the street near Glasgow Central.

The National:

The station entrance remains unaffected however and police are there to provide guidance for traffic.

The closure was first reported around 7.40am but it is not known when it will reopen.

Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
