THE National’s podcast is set to return this week with an exclusive interview with Wellbeing Economy, Fair Work and Energy Secretary Neil Gray.

The SNP MSP spoke to our journalists on the Holyrood Weekly podcast about Humza Yousaf’s first Programme for Government (PfG), the reaction to the announcement and his brief over the next parliamentary term.

Gray also set out how he will work to reset the relationship with business and his views on Scottish Labour and the Scottish Tories both pitching themselves as “pro-business” ahead of the Scottish Parliament returning after recess.

With a policy programme focusing on women’s issues from diversifying entrepreneurship funding, miscarriage support, childcare expansion, and much more, Gray set out the Scottish Government’s thinking behind the announcement.

And, he told how the Scottish Government won’t back down to growing pressure from short-term lets landlords to pause the incoming licensing scheme.

Our journalists will also speak to a campaigner from Pregnant then Screwed for their response to the PfG in a bumper episode, with analysis from our reporters Abbi Garton-Crosbie and Steph Brawn giving a recap of a busy summer recess and what to look forward to in the next year.

The Holyrood Weekly podcast will return on Friday on the Omny streaming platform, Spotify and The National’s website.
