A NUMBER of Scottish fish and chip shops have made a list of the very best in the UK.

The Times newspaper’s list of the very best 18 chippies features three Scottish shops, including two in East Lothian.

The Rocketeer in North Berwick – located in an old coastguard station overlooking Milsey Bay – was ranked third on the list and was also a winner in 2023’s inaugural Scottish Chippy Awards.

The National:

East Coast in Musselburgh also made the list, sitting at 11th place.

The ranking praised their Stornoway black-pudding fritters and haggis bites alongside their cod, haddock, and twice-cooked chips.

The Bay Fish & Chips in Stonehaven came eighth.

Former Drywite Young Fryer of the Year, Calum Richardson, is at the helm of this Aberdeenshire chippy that brings sustainability to the fore in their menu.

Whitehead’s Fish & Chips in Yorkshire, meanwhile, took the crown.
