PICTURES have revealed the aftermath of a fire inside a historic Shawlands building.
As previously reported by the Glasgow Times, the White Elephant Cinema on Kilmarnock Road in the city's Southside went on fire on Tuesday evening.
Around 40 firefighters battled the blaze until the early hours of Wednesday morning while police locked down the road to divert drivers away from the flames.
The images appear to show Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) entered the now derelict building via the Salvation Army store on the street front.
The cinema, which first opened in the 1920s, was a popular spot in the Southside known for its double seats for courting couples.
It's not yet known what caused the blaze and the SFRS remain on site as an investigation begins.
A spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 6.59pm on Tuesday, July 11, to reports of a fire within a derelict building on Kilmarnock Road, Shawlands.
"Operations Control mobilised a total of nine fire appliances to tackle and contain the fire.
"There were no reported casualties and one appliance remains on the scene as of Wednesday, July 12, to reinspect the building for any hotspots."
