TICKETS for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Preview Night are now up for grabs.

Audiences attending this year's event can expect a spectacular showcase of traditional and contemporary performances from around the world.

Organisers have announced that Preview Night tickets will be available at half-price, offering an opportunity to experience the magic of the festival at a discounted rate.

In addition, the Tattoo launched a new membership scheme, granting members access to exclusive benefits such as pre-sale ticket access and behind-the-scenes tours.

This year, artists such as The United States Air Force Band are set to wow the crowds with a freestyle musical performance, while The Trinidad & Tobago Defence Force Steel Orchestra feature contemporary Caribbean music.

Embracing the event's Scottish roots, traditional tunes from the Massed Pipes & Drums will be featured alongside this year's lead service – The Royal Air Force, which will remix songs from popular video games such as Battlefield 2, Final Fantasy VII and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Michael Braithwaite, creative director of The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, said: “Storytelling is at the heart of this year’s Tattoo.

“We’re presenting an enticing array of tales, myths and legends through music, dance, sound, and light.

“As an international cultural celebration, the Tattoo is a show we want everyone to experience and enjoy.

“Our half-price Preview Night tickets are a great way for people to be part of the excitement and are always snapped up quickly.”

Preview Night audiences can expect to see the full line-up of more than 800 performers from across the globe throughout the month of August.

Tickets can be purchased at edintattoo.co.uk/tickets or on the phone at 0131 225 1188 from 10am tomorrow, with prices starting at £20.
