STEWARDS are set to meet ahead of the All Under One Banner (AUOB) independence march on Saturday.

AUOB is hosting a Zoom meeting for stewards at 6pm on Wednesday (June 21) to ensure the smooth running of the march, which is taking place in Stirling on June 24. Experienced stewards will explain what the role involves and answer any questions from volunteers.

“All Under One Banner holds National demonstrations for independence on an annual basis, so there is always the need for volunteer Stewards to ensure that the marches are well organised,” organisers said.

“Being a steward will not interfere with your enjoyment of the march as you can walk alongside family and friends - and with 34 marches since 2014 that have all been vibrant and peaceful, it's clear and commendable that the YES community's behaviour is consistently impeccable.

“The meeting will be held by AUOB's Chief Stewards, who will explain what's involved with this straightforward role and answer any questions. We look forward to seeing you there.”
