IAN Blackford and his successor Stephen Flynn were all smiles as they posed for a picture in a Commons bar after a reported stooshie over the Westminster group’s financial struggles.

The pair enjoyed a pint of Guinness and an Aperol Spritz – a cheap round because they're drinking in one of Westminster's taxpayer-funded boozers on the banks of the Thames.

Flynn captioned the photo: “Don’t dwell on the past, focus on the future.”

It comes after reports the pair had a bust-up at a meeting of SNP MPs in Westminster on Tuesday night.

The pair are thought to have clashed over contradictory public statements each made about the process the Westminster group is going through to find new auditors to review its annual accounts – due by May 31.

Flynn for his part denied he had told Blackford earlier this month new auditors were in place – while the deposed former leader accused the young pretender of giving him false assurances about the party’s finances.

There is more than £1 million at stake in their race to secure some bean counters. If they fail to do so before the deadline, the party could lose out on so-called Short Money which is used to finance its activities in Westminster.

But an after-work pint seems to have made everything better ...
