A FIRE at a West Dunbartonshire beauty spot sparked an emergency response last night.

Fire crews responded to the scene at Kilpatrick Hills after the alarm was raised at around 9.30pm.

It is understood that it was a grass fire.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze before leaving around 30 minutes later.

Crews revisited the site early this morning to inspect the area.

There are no reported injuries.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at around 9.37pm on Tuesday, April 25, to reports of grass on fire at Kilpatrick Hills. 

"Operations control mobilised one appliance to Garshake Road. Crews left at 10.07pm and revisited to inspect the area at 6.48am on April 26.

"There are no reported injuries."
