COMMUTERS in Scotland are facing disruption on the rail network this morning due to a “track fault”.
ScotRail has confirmed that several services between Edinburgh and Glasgow have been either delayed or cancelled.
In a tweet posted this morning, Network Rail said: “We’re investigating reports of a track fault between Edinburgh Park and Linlithgow.
“We’ve had to close the line in both directions whilst we look into this further.”

ScotRail later confirmed that, following a safety inspection of the track between Edinburgh Park and Linlithgow, “both lines are closed in both directions”.
The operator apologised for delays and provided an update on what services were disrupted.
This included services between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh via Falkirk High and also between Edinburgh and Dunblane.
Replacement buses have been organised and ScotRail said that “ticket acceptance is now in place with Stagecoach East between Stirling and Dunblane”.
