YESFOREU has announced it will hold a march for independence in Edinburgh on September 2.

The organisation has invited all those who want "independence and EU membership" to join them on the march to the Scottish Parliament where there will be “prominent speakers and lots of joyful music”.

Independence supporters will begin marching from from Johnston Terrace to outside the Parliament, via the Royal Mile. It is set to begin at 2pm.

The march has been approved by the City Council and road closures are to be confirmed. Speakers will also be announced soon.

The announcement follows the group joining the march hosted by Yes2Indee on Saturday, April 1, as well as hosting a stall near St Giles Cathedral before walking to the Parliament.

The group said in a tweet that: “Our stall before the Yes2indee march in Edinburgh was extremely busy!

“There was much interest from tourists, mostly from EU countries, attracted by the EU symbol on our Saltires and logo. They all supported Scottish independence and EU membership.”
