TWITTER has issued a statement as several parts of the website and app have been hit by an outage.

The social media platform, owned by Elon Musk, said that parts aren’t “working as expected right now”.

The update came as links failed to work properly, and videos and photos stopped loading correctly.

Thousands of people reported the outage to Down Detector.

“Some parts of Twitter may not be working as expected right now,” said Twitter Support.

“We made an internal change that had some unintended consequences. We’re working on this now and will share an update when it’s fixed.”
