Here’s everything you need to know about the hustings including when they begin and how to watch.

What time does the hustings start?

This marks the first of nine hustings which are set to take place over two weeks.

It will take place from 7pm-9pm in the Cumbernauld Theatre at Lanterhouse.

How can I watch the hustings?

The event will be available to view via the SNP's digital channels.

This means you can head over to any of YouTube, Facebook or Twitter to tune into the event.

Why is there a row over media access?

The SNP’s ruling National Executive Committee initially said this event and the other regional hustings would be closed to both the public and press.

However, a backlash against the decision, including from the three candidates themselves, has led to a reversal of the ban on the media.

A spokesperson for the NEC said: “We are in discussion with media outlets making a request for access to our members hustings event in Cumbernauld, and we’re already looking at ways to make content available to our wider membership for this series of events.

Access to the first event is understood to be on a “pool basis”, meaning only a limited number of journalists can attend but the content they collect will be made widely available.
