A LARGE rat was removed from a Renfrewshire supermarket after being spotted by horrified shoppers.

The rodent was seen browsing the George section of the Asda store at Phoenix Retail Park on Saturday, January 28.

Footage shared on social media platform TikTok showed the rat crawling under a clothes rack in one of the aisles.

The rodent was reported to the store on Saturday night and removed that same evening.

It is believed the rat may have came into the supermarket in a compost delivery.
