A WOMAN has been left with "life-changing" injuries after an incident at Greenock Central railway station.

British Transport Police staff rushed to the station around 11.40am on Sunday following reports of a person being struck by a train.

Paramedics and police were also on the scene, and a woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Greenock Central railway station at 11.40am on January 29 to reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended and a woman was taken to a local hospital with life-changing injuries.

"This incident is not being treated as suspicious."
