Customers are being advised not to travel by rail during this time unless absolutely necessary.

Although Thursday January 5,  is a non-strike day, ScotRail says the same limited timetable will be in operation on that day. This is due to the closing and reopening of signal boxes at different times throughout the day.

It is hoped that some additional routes can be added that day, but customers should check the ScotRail journey planner for details before they travel.

There is also likely to be some disruption on Sunday, January 8.
