RISHI Sunak has started appointing his new Cabinet after becoming the UK’s third Prime Minister this year.

Suella Braverman has been made Home Secretary again just a few days after she “resigned” from the role in Liz Truss's government following a security breach.

Michael Gove has returned to his former role as Levelling Up Secretary after throwing his weight behind Rishi Sunak's campaign to be Prime Minister. 

Alister Jack remains as Secretary of State for Scotland despite Andrew Bowie being a vocal supporter of Sunak. 

Grant Shapps, who briefly took the place of Braverman, has now taken Jacob Rees-Mogg's old post as Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Secretary.

Jeremy Hunt has remained in post as Chancellor while Dominic Raab has been handed back the role of Justice Secretary and Deputy Prime Minister – posts he had under Boris Johnson.

Former Welsh secretary Simon Hart has been made Chief Whip in place of Wendy Morton while James Cleverly – a big Johnson backer - will remain as Foreign Secretary.

Ben Wallace has kept his job as Defence Secretary – one of the few cabinet secretaries to hang onto their post in Johnson, Truss and Sunak’s premierships.

Penny Mordaunt has been re-appointed as Leader of the House of Commons while Nadhim Zahawi has been made a Minister without Portfolio and Conservative Party chair.

Steve Barclay has become Health Secretary replacing Therese Coffey, who has been moved to the department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. 

New faces include Gillian Keegan, who has become Secretary of State for Education, and close Sunak ally Mel Stride who takes over as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.

Kemi Badenoch has been re-appointed as Secretary of State for International Trade while Michelle Donelan also remains in her post as Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
