A MAN allegedly wielding a blade was tasered by police just yards from the houses of parliament.

Police said the man was carrying a weapon and had been seen behaving oddly near the Palace of Westminster on Friday morning.

He was tasered and arrested by Metropolitan Police officers.

The forces said there were no reports of any injuries.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: “At around 11.5am on Friday, October 21 a man was seen behaving erratically in the SW1 area.

“He was stopped by armed officers on Millbank.

“Police taser was discharged and the man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article. He has been taken into custody.

“There have been no reports of any injuries.”
