THE boss of a recently closed Dalmuir pub says he is "mortified" X-rated pics of him were leaked online as The Horse & Barge faced a pool table sex scandal this week.

Scott Mackie, the licensee, said that the decision to shut the Dumbarton Road pub had nothing to do with the images that were posted on social media and shared widely.

The explicit pics had the faces of the people taking part in the apparent sex act blocked with an emoji.

On Monday night, the Dumbarton Road establishment called last orders for the final time, and it failed to open its doors on Tuesday morning.

Also this week, photos of a sex act taking place on the pool table of the pub surfaced, but Mackie said he made the decision to close previously due to the business not being profitable.

Speaking to the Clydebank Post, he said: “Both things are totally unrelated, my issue is probably the absolutely mortifying images of me, which I admit was a stupid mistake on my part on a very drunken night where pictures of me were taken without my knowledge or consent and by coincidence they happened to appear on every social media platform the day I decided to close the pub.

“The actual closure of the pub was my own personal decision that I had been considering for a few weeks, due to the type of lease/agreement I had with the brewery it just wasn’t viable, it’s a great pub and I hope it opens again soon and I hope whomever it is can make a go of it.”

The move to close the pub was a tough one for Scott, who had always dreamed of running his own establishment.

He added: “It broke my heart to make the decision to close as it was my dream to run my own pub, and regardless of the outcome, I did it, and I done it by myself at the age of 25. It just wasn’t meant to be.

“Heineken were fantastic from start to end.”

The owners of the Dumbarton Road establishment Star Pubs and Bars, the pub business of Heineken UK, said they were given no prior warning of the pub’s closure.

A spokesperson said: "The Horse & Barge Clydebank was leased to an independent operator to run as their own business.

“They have closed the pub without notice and we are working to get it reopened as quickly as possible.”

After the pictures were leaked, Scott posted to his own Facebook page: "No f***s given - at least I can say I went oot with a bang and I didn't even need an onlyfans page to go viral. Scott who? Scott f*** all to do with you c***s."
