A MUCH-LOVED festival is returning with pumpkins and other ghostly treats this Halloween.

M&D's theme park in Motherwell will once again play host to the Pumpkin Outdoor Festival in October.

The Bash a Pumpkin game where everyone wins a prize will make a welcome return, while this year’s event will feature a new event.

Folksy Theatre will tell guests ghostly stories about Witch Wizbottom’s Magical Book. Shows take place every 30 minutes.

The popular Pumpkin Trail and the Pumpkin Patch where visitors can pick the pumpkin of their choice will also feature at the festival. 

Children can also enjoy a trip on the Pumpkin Express Train as well as new Halloween-themed arts and crafts.

Jensen Taylor Connelly said: “The Pumpkin Festival has become a popular annual fixture as people look forward to celebrating the turn of the season.

“Last year the event attracted people from far and wide and with new features added this year, it’s sure to be a great experience for visitors.”

The Festival will take place on selected dates and times from Saturday, October 8 until Sunday, October 30.  

Special performances for additional support needs will also take place at 11am on Sunday, October 23 and at 5pm on Thursday, October 27.

Online tickets cost £8.50, which includes a hot drink, or £10.95 which includes a pumpkin.
