A FIRE broke out at a Glasgow restaurant sparking multiple emergency services to rush to the scene.

Firefighters and police officers were called to The Finnieston on Argyle Street in the early hours of this morning after receiving a report of the blaze. 

The force confirmed that they had attended the scene to assist fire crews and that the road was temporarily closed while the fire was dealt with. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers assisted Scottish Fire and Rescue Service following reports of a fire at Argyle Street, Glasgow which was reported to police at 5.10am on Sunday, August 14, 2022.

"Road closure were put in place, but have now re-opened."

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were contacted for comment.
