THOUSANDS of people have voted on their favourite pubs and restaurants as part of an annual award celebrating Scottish food and drink.

For the 27th year of the Scottish Bar & Pub Awards – also known as the hospitality Oscars – venue owners across the country have been shortlisted in more than 24 categories, including Dog-Friendly Pub of the Year, Best Live Music Venue and New Bar of the Year.

Some 75 pubs, bars and restaurants have now been revealed, with trade experts and mystery shoppers joining the 3500 voters to select the winners at an event in Glasgow later this month.

Organiser Susan Young said: “The licensed trade needs our support more than ever and Scottish hospitality has never been better. Congratulations to all the finalists - your recognition is very well deserved, and I can’t wait to see who takes home the trophies at this year’s awards."
