TWO children and four adults had to be rescued in the early hours of Sunday morning after torrential rain and thunderstorms hit their camping spot.
Shortly before 1am, the Greenock Coastguard Rescue Team, alongside Helensburgh and Inveraray, were alerted to multiple incidents on the north side of Loch Lomond.
Several people who were camping at various sites near the River Falloch ended up requiring assistance.
Images posted by the rescue team showed tents had been partially submerged in water, blue-lit rescue boats and rescue team members in high-vis jackets.
This comes following a yellow warning from the Met Office which means that heavy showers and thunderstorms are to be expected whilst the flooding of homes and businesses is “likely.”
The Loch Lomond Rescue Boat saved two children and four adults from a camping spot near Ardleish, recovering them to the awaiting Coastguard, Scottish Ambulance Service and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
Further assistance was provided by Coastguard personnel at further camp sites north of Loch Lomond.
