KEMI Badenoch has become the latest candidate to be knocked out of the Tory leadership election.

MPs cast their votes once again on Tuesday having voted to knock out Tom Tugendhat on Monday night.

Unlike early rounds of voting, there was no threshold to meet, it was simply the candidate who came in last that was eliminated.

There are now just three candidates remaining – Rishi Sunak, Liz Truss and Penny Mordaunt.

Badenoch was accused of “Trumpian logic” recently by the SNP’s Alison Thewliss after she made the claim that “the SNP thrive on generating grievances and setting people against each other.

“They blame England for injustices rather than bringing Scots of every background together in a common endeavour.”

Thewliss described the comments as a “strange strategy”.
