TODAY is your LAST CHANCE to get a 30-day free subscription to The National's premium plus content.
With a date in the diary for indyref2, there has never been a better time to join the family at Scotland's ONLY pro-independence paper.
There are 476 days until the Scottish people get their say on the Union, meaning there are 476 days to campaign to ensure this time the answer to independence is a resounding YES.
For each and every one of these 476 days, The National is committed to promoting all the wonderful outcomes Scottish independence could bring to our nation.
By signing up to our premium plus subscription, you will have access to columns by leading independence figures, exclusives on Tory sleaze and dirty Unionist tricks and analysis of the wider yes movement.
In the 8-years since the first referendum, the situation in Scotland has changed drastically, and we have witnessed support for the movement grow at an increasing rate.
Over the next 16 months, we have a chance to change the future of our country for the better.
Please join us on that journey.

National editor Callum Baird said: “We’re really proud of our reporting – from the effect of Brexit on businesses to the latest from communities up and down Scotland.
“We’ve also got Scotland’s top range of columnists, whose analysis is a key companion to a busy year for the country and for independence.
“There’s so much more, too, which is why we’re offering this 30-day free trial – we’d love to see more people joining The National family as we move towards an independent Scotland.”
Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers?
We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions about the future of our country.
Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversations, register under fake names, and post vile abuse.
So that’s why we’ve decided to make the ability to comment only available to our paying subscribers. That way, all the trolls who post abuse on our website will have to pay if they want to join the debate – and risk a permanent ban from the account that they subscribe with.
The conversation will go back to what it should be about – people who care passionately about the issues, but disagree constructively on what we should do about them. Let’s get that debate started!
Callum Baird, Editor of The National
