A TECH firm has opened its second location in Edinburgh, creating more than 100 new jobs in the capital.

AND Digital, a “digital enablement partner” for clients such as British Airways, DC Thomson, SKY, and Wood Mackenzie, opened its second “Club” in the city yesterday.

Joining offices in Glasgow and 19 other locations across the UK and the Netherlands, the AND Digital provides roles for analysts, developers and designers.

The company’s first club in Edinburgh launched in March 2020, with its first Glasgow club opening its doors in June 2021.

Since its launch in 2014, AND Digital’s workforce has grown to 1,600 “ANDis” (employees), which the company says represents “another step forward to its ambitious goal of having five clubs with over 500 Scottish ANDis by 2025.”

Ivan McKee, the Scottish Minster for Business, Trade, Tourism and Enterprise, officially opened the new club’s premises at 80 George Street.

McKee said: “AND Digital’s decision to open their third Club in Scotland in just over two years shows the appetite and demand which businesses have for digital transformation support.

“AND Digital’s work towards closing the digital skills gap is key and it is great to see companies like this continuing to invest in the workforce in Scotland.”

After £74 million in recent tech investment, Edinburgh is ranked as the UK’s sixth best tech-hub according to a report by Tech Nation.

AND Digital believes the city will continue to grow as it works towards its plans for expansion in Scotland.

Andrew Smith, chief for next at AND Digital said: “Edinburgh has a thriving tech community and strong reputation for entrepreneurial spirit, so it is a natural fit for AND Digital.

“We want to nurture digital talent, and our collaborative Club environment lets us do just that.

“This is our third major investment in Scotland and we are confident that this Club will serve the growing demand for digital acceleration.”

Fiona Burton, club executive of the new Edinburgh Club, said: “This is a really exciting day as we open the doors to our new Club and welcome new ANDis and clients.

“I’m looking forward to leading the team as we work to support new clients and continue to grow our customer base across Scotland.”
