PRINCE Andrew may be sent to Scotland as he looks to “rebuild his life in a different direction”, reports say.

The Queen’s son was cast out of the working monarchy and no longer uses his HRH style after Virginia Giuffre, who was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein, accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was 17. The duke denied the claims.

This year, he paid around £12 million to settle a civil sexual assault case to the woman he claimed never to have met.

While Andrew had been due to appear publicly during the Jubilee celebrations last weekend, he ended up testing positive for Covid and isolating as the events unfolded.

On Sunday, the Mail reported that “secret talks” had been going on at Windsor involving the Queen focusing on Andrew’s future – and it was suggested that his next steps may involve moving to Scotland.

“Clearly at some point soon, thought will have to be given as to how to support the Duke as, away from the public gaze, he seeks slowly to rebuild his life in a different direction,” a Palace source said.

"There is, of course, a real awareness and sensitivity to public feelings.

"There is also recognition that the task of starting to support him as he begins to rebuild his life will be the first step on a long road and one that should not be played out every day in the glare of the public spotlight."

Meanwhile over the weekend, reports emerged that Andrew may not be so interested in stepping into the background.

According to The Telegraph the prince has asked his mother to be instated as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, and wants his two daughters to be made working royals.

Andrew is also keen for his HRH title and “Prince of the Blood” status to be reinstated, the report said.

Andrew will appear publicly on Monday at the Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle, marking his first official outing since his father’s memorial service in March.
