A SECOND Tory MSP has been spotted in Spain for the Europa League final while the Scottish Parliament is sitting.

Conservative Dean Lockhart was pictured alongside his colleague Murdo Fraser on Wednesday night ahead of the Rangers v Eintracht Frankfurt Europa League final.

The picture, posted on Twitter, showed Fraser joined by Lockhart, who was wearing a Rangers t-shirt.

The post read: "Tory MSPs on tour - catching up with ⁦@DeanLockhartMSP in Seville."

Fraser, MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife, had previously been accused of "deserting" his responsibilities after flying to the Spanish city.

The politician has made no secret of his trip though, appearing from the historic Spanish city on the BBC's The Nine, as well as writing a diary for The Times.

It comes after Fraser attacked Nicola Sturgeon for her trip to America where she met with the country's officials, in a tour she said would strengthen ties between the nations.

Pete Wishart, SNP MP for Perth and North Perthshire which overlaps with Fraser's constituency, criticised his Holyrood colleague for travelling to Spain.

“It is absolutely astounding and the height of hypocrisy to learn that Murdo Fraser is deserting his parliamentary responsibilities to go and watch a football match,” he told The National.

“While it is fantastic for Rangers to be in this final, Murdo Fraser perhaps needs gently reminded that there is a Tory imposed cost-of-living crisis and a Covid recovery needing attended to.

“All week the Scottish Tories have been bumping their gums about the First Minister visiting the United States to promote Scotland’s interests. Apparently standing up for Scotland is all bad whilst attending a football game is OK.

“Perthshire has rejected Murdo Fraser on multiple occasions and after this I’m sure he will be heading for another red card.”
