EVERY SNP candidate fielded in Clackmannanshire has secured a council seat with the party clinching half the chamber.

All nine hopefuls are now elected members as the party secured 50% of the region's seats for the first time in more than 20 years and became the largest group.

The positive result was applauded by justice secretary and Clackmannanshire MSP Keith Brown.

Clackmannanshire is the smallest council in Scotland with just 18 seats.

The SNP won seats in the wards of Clackmannanshire East, South, Central, North, and West.

Labour secured five seats, the Tories got three and the Greens got one.
